Your Mind Trains,
Your Body Gains.

The difference between a good athlete and a great athlete is not just determined by skill, talent or even experience. What separates them is their MINDSET. Champions trust in themselves and know that they will come out on top at the end of a game. They are confident in their preparation and their abilities to handle anything and anyone that comes their way. Their attitude and belief system dictates how they prepare for competition and how they perform under pressure.
Athletes and coaches largely agree that the mental aspect of sports is more critical than the physical aspect to become a champion. However, the large majority only train physically not mentally. The most successful athletes and teams make time to train their minds, which directly impacts their physical performance. They understand that anxiety is part of competitive athletics and they can work to utilize it rather than be controlled by it.
Top athletes and organizations specifically credit mindset training as a key component in their approach, preparation and performance at the highest level. Unfortunately, most organizations don’t have access to this kind of information or support.
Arman Taghizadeh, M.D. (Dr. T) is a former NCAA Division 1 Athlete and Johns Hopkins trained Board Certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist and Sports Psychiatrist. He is also the founder of the Mindset Training Institute® (MTI) and host of the Podcast, The Mindset Experience.®

“Mindset” is a process where you continue to grow, push yourself in different ways, and get “comfortable with being uncomfortable.” In order to teach it, you need to live it! This podcast integrates my experience as a board certified Psychiatrist, NCAA division 1 wrestler, and current competitive athlete as we dive into the stories of how elite athletes and entrepreneurs used mindset to help them overcome challenges and achieve success.

Develop and Integrate Dr. T's "Mental Skills Training Program"

Address Mental Health Vulnerabilities Including Performance Anxiety

Support Management of Athletic Injury and Facilitate Recovery

Create Balance to Increase Motivation and Mental Endurance

Achieve Fulfillment in Sports and Transition to Life After Competition
MTI offers programs and seminars that directly target the needs of coaches, parents of elite athletes, sports medicine professionals and athletes sustaining significant injuries. Finally, the “Mental Skills Training Program” was developed specifically for sports teams as a group and competitive individuals dedicated to going from competitors to champions.
The individual “Mental Skills Training Program” is a six-part series that begins with a thorough evaluation and introduction to the program. Each subsequent session takes participants through the process needed to become a champion by developing a competitive mindset and learning specific techniques that athletes will implement in their daily routine. With the proper attention, dedication and practice, these methods will build confidence, leading to persistence and ending in success.
These principles and skills are directly applicable to the professional world in which critical thinking, assertiveness, and resilience are necessary for attaining desirable outcomes.
